Was your Monday a "Meat Free Monday"?

I ran across this video performance by Paul McCartney of his Support Meat Free Monday song he wrote for the campaign he started in England to make us more aware about our food and the environment.  It's quite catchy.  Enjoy!

I have been a pescatarian for 14 years now and feel so much better when I choose to eat this diet.  It's a form of vegetarianism where you eat seafood occasionally, eggs and dairy.  My belief is that even small steps related to bettering our environment and what we put in our bodies are steps in the right direction.  Many celebrities who are some form of vegetarian are also endorsing Meat Free Mondays.  Check out Gwyneth Paltrow's blog, "Goop" where she talks about her diet choices among a variety of other topics.

You can get more information about Supporting Meat Free Mondays on the official British website.

Noridan Makes Music With Everyday Cast-offs

It's amazing what can be made from trash. Noridan is a South Korean band that makes amazingly beautiful instruments from these everyday cast-offs. If only I was so creative. Enjoy!

Piano Stairs

This weeks music video is from The Fun Theory. They believe that "the easiest way to change people's behavior for the better is by making it fun to do." So, its only natural that we would want to make people's lives more fun with music. The Fun Theory installed piano keys on the stairs going out of a subway tunnel to see how many people they could get to choose the stairs instead of the escalators. See the results for yourself.

Sara Bareilles - "Single Ladies" Beyoncé cover Live!

Mashups have become popular across the music sphere because of Glee and the creative juices of so many students.  So much of our music today is borrowed from the music that came before us.  Sometimes these pairings make me want to cringe but other times they are just fantastic.  This "Video of the Week" is the pairing of the music stylings of Sara Bareilles with the song "Single Ladies" made famous by Beyonce.  Enjoy!
