The Simple Woman's Daybook - August 21, 2010

For Today, Saturday August 21, 2010

Outside my window...A sunny Saturday following a night of stormy weather

I am thinking...of all the things I have to do today and about future plans.  I have had a hard time sleeping due to all the things I have on my mind lately.  I have so many ideas and goals it's hard to figure out how to get them accomplished or decide if they are worth doing.  I'll keep at it.  First thing on my list after breakfast today is get pictures off the camera and that's in progress.

I am thankful for...The time my Mom gets to spend with my kids and our good friends Sharon and Larry.  They are all pretty awesome!

From the kitchen...cinnamon and raisin bagels with cream cheese & naked juice smoothies.  Simple but wonderful breakfast.

I am wearing...a comfy black t-shirt and denim pants.

I am creating...Some photo goodness.  I so enjoy taking great pictures.  After I get these off the camera and organized I will be off to take some of Oliver's new walking skills and maybe some video, too.

I am going...to try to not work too hard this weekend but there is a lot of sorting and organizing in my future.  Garage sale here we come!

I am reading...all the things I have been meaning to catch up on.  It's quite a list of emails, facebook and Google reader items.

I am hoping...for continued forward motion.  Things to go well with our house search and continued good health.

I am hearing...the best sound ever, my children's laughter and some of my favorite songs on the old sixty one.  I can't stand the new version of that site but thank goodness they are leaving the original up for now.

Around the house...Cleaning and organizing, cooking and some silly fun with my kids.

One of my favorite things...Bagels and cream cheese.  Yum!

A few plans for the rest of the week:  Major garage sale preparations; more silly fun with my little ones; a little music practice; Oliver's one year doctor's check-up finally.

Here is a picture for thought I am sharing...These are two of my family's favorite people, Sharon & Larry.

The Simple Woman's Daybook - August 9, 2010

For Today, Monday August 9, 2010

Outside my window...My friend Sharon's beautiful garden plants.  I have seen so many humming birds, squirrels, frogs and butterflies enjoying them.

I am thinking...of tons of things.  My brain has been going a mile a minute this days.

I am thankful for...My wonderful friends and family that have made this crazy time a little bit more bearable.

From the kitchen...breakfast was simple today.  Veggie sausages, yogurt with grape nuts, a banana & leftover Denny's pancake from Madeline's Birthday dinner yesterday.  Yummy!

I am wearing...a comfy white t-shirt and black lounge pants.

I am creating...Organization of all the stuff we have surrounding us right now: Laundry, children's toys, papers.  Trying to keep the mess to a minimum.

I am going...To see our first house today!

I am reading...Listings for houses and websites for housing programs.  The KC Dream Home Program looks promising.

I am hoping...to find a nice, three bedroom, one or two bath house in the Raytown/Kansas City area.  Our friend and Keller Williams realtor, Bruce Marston has taken this mission on with us.  Thank you Bruce!

I am hearing...soft music from the grand piano in the living room, my son softly snoring in his sleep and my daughter's chatter while she plays with her new birthday princess toys.

Around the house...Laundry and picking up.  We also need to find the remote control for the cable box to the T.V.

One of my favorite things...Birthdays!  Today is my Madeline's 4th birthday.  Happy Birthday Madeline!

A few plans for the rest of the week: House searching, playing with my kids, more house searching, finishing a few more items from the to-do list & spending some much needed time with my husband.

Here is a picture for thought I am sharing... The first house we will see today on our journey to find a new home.
